Lucrezia-Prologue: Blood-stained Despair

“Nooo!! Don’t do it Crezi!!” I cried out despairingly, tears running down my face.
“I’m sorry, Lu…” Crezi replied, right before #43 shoved her arm through Crezi’s chest. Crezi cried out in anguish, her face a twisted mask of agony. Tears streamed from both of her bloodied eyes, mixing with the blood splattered across her face.
“Ahh, I’m disappointed in you, Crezi.” #43 said, with her forearm protruding from Crezi’s back, soaked crimson in her blood. “I expected more from one my older sisters than that…Jumping in front of Lu to save her?” She glanced my way with utter contempt and disgust.
I wanted to stand, take Cea, and run, run as fast and as far as possible from the monster that stood before me. However, no matter how much I tried, I couldn’t budge. My legs, collapsed under me, refused to move. My entire body was shaking; my arms, my legs, my torso. Every cell within my body was literally paralyzed with fear towards the monster that stood before me. I could not move any more than I could have saved Crezi.
“Why, Crezi?” #43 asked her, with her head cocked to one side. “Why would you intentionally receive grievous injury to protect the traitor Lu? Father’s orders are absolute.” She glanced at me again, as if to emphasize her point. Her eyes spoke volumes to me in the second our eyes held contact. You pathetic weakling; they said to me. Those who betray Father’s orders will be dealt with accordingly. Did you really think you could ignore orders and escape with your life? Coward. Those who are afraid to kill will be killed. I will make your death a slow and painful one.
Her intense eyes and promise of retribution caused me to lose control of my bladder. The warmth spreading out beneath me mingled with Crezi’s blood spilled all over the floor.
“ ‘Father!?’” Crezi spit out angrily. Her wound was beginning to heal, but it could not close as long as she was impaled upon #43’s arm. “I don’t care if he is the one who created us, after deciding to throw us into this hell, he doesn’t deserve to be called ‘Father’!” Crezi tried to struggle her way free as she screamed, but to no avail. “He created us, and for what!? To us as weapons! To watch us slaughter our fellow sisters, simply because he says so!? To kill off our ‘weaker’ sisters first, to slaughter the ones who do not wish to kill!? I refuse to acknowledge that monster as our “Father” ever again, as long as I live!” she finished ferociously. It was a fatal mistake.
I could not see #43’s eyes. Her hair was obscuring her face, as she had lowered her face and shoulders as Crezi had responded angrily to her question. I was afraid she would respond physically to Crezi’s verbal abuse of the Doctor, but what soon followed was far worse.
Heheheh…” #43 mumbled, her shoulders shaking. Aheheh….AHAHAHAHAHA!!” Her laughter was cruel and filled with insanity. Crezi’s insult towards the Doctor was the scissors that cut the last remaining thread holding her sanity together. “Insults towards Father will not be tolerated, sister!”  #43 swung the arm that impaled Crezi sharply to her right, launching Crezi airborne and into the nearby facility wall. Without even waiting for contact, #43 immediately ran after her, bloodlust emanating from her wild figure. In the seconds it took for Crezi to make impact, her wound had already healed, only to for new ones to be made as her body made contact with the titanium reinforced wall and made a sickening crunch as ever bone in her body broke on impact. Her pained scream rent the air. The moment she landed on the floor in a broken heap, #43 stood over her, her arm pointed straight at her chest. “I’ll be taking that traitorous heart of yours, sister dearest!” She screamed wildly, plunging her arm deep into Crezi’s chest once more, emerging moments later with a bloody mass in her hand.
“Even YOU can’t regenerate a new heart, Crezi! Or should I say #4!?” She giggled uncontrollably, her face warped with twisted pleasure. “Don’t worry, I’ll be sending the traitors Lu and Cea to meet you soon!” Crezi could only watch helplessly as #43’s fingers clenched around her own heart. “Burn in hell, sister!! AHAHAHAHA!” she laughed maniacally as she splattered Crezi’s heart between her bloody fingers. Leaving Crezi without a heart and to bleed to death upon the floor, she turned her sights towards me and the unconscious Cea held in my arms. Even as I watched death walk toward me, laughing like a small child enjoying the prospect of playing with a new toy, my legs wouldn’t move. My fear locked me in place, condemning myself and Cea to die. As #43’s fingers started to slowly encircle my neck, only one thought rested in my mind. How…how could it have come to all this…?
